How Does It Work
Tiotropium is an anticholinergic agent that is a reversible competitive inhibitor of type 3 muscarinic (M3) receptors which cause the smooth muscle in the bronchi to relax and subsequently lead to bronchodilation.
Olodaterol is a selective beta-agonist that binds to beta2 receptors located on the bronchial smooth muscle causing the airway to dilate reducing the work required to breathe while having little effect on heart rate.

Precautions
Before starting Tiotropium+Olodaterol, Stiolto Respimat/Inspiolto Respimat make sure your physician is aware of any allergies or medications you currently take. Hyperthyroidism, cardiovascular disease, electrolyte disturbances, urinary retention, and rare paradoxical cases of life-threatening bronchospasm have been reported.
Usual Dosing
Oral Inhalation: Soft Mist Inhaler
Take two inhalations once daily (maximum: 2 inhalations per day.)

How to Take Tiotropium+Olodaterol, Stiolto Respimat/Inspiolto Respimat
Administer at the same time each day. Prime inhaler prior to initial use or if not used for >21 days by pointing inhaler towards the ground and actuating until an aerosol cloud is seen, then repeat 3 additional times before use. If not used for >3 days (but ≤21 days), actuate once before use. To prepare the inhaler for use after priming, refer to manufacturer labeling. When the dose is ready to be administered, breathe in slowly through the mouth and press the dose release button; continue to breathe in slowly as long as possible, then hold breath for 10 seconds or for as long as comfortable. Repeat for the second inhalation.
