Precautions
Before starting Indacaterol+Mometasone Furoate, Atectura Breezhaler makes sure your physician is aware of any allergies or medications you currently take, and current medical conditions. Indacaterol is a long-acting beta-2 agonist which when used as monotherapy has been associated with a higher risk of severe exacerbations and asthma-related deaths. Indacaterol should always be used in combination with an inhaled corticosteroid combined in a single inhaler. The use of long-term inhaled corticosteroids like Mometasone Furoate can cause a decrease in bone mineral density, HPA axis suppression, immunosuppression, vasculitis, and oral candidiasis. Indacaterol+Mometasone Furoate, Atectura Breezhaler should be used with caution in patients with cardiovascular disease, diabetes, gastrointestinal disease, hepatic impairment, hypokalemia, myasthenia gravis, ocular disease, seizure disorders, and thyroid disease.
Usual Dosing
Usual (Inhaler): Inhale the contents of 1 capsule (Indacaterol 150mcg/Mometasone 160mcg or 320mcg) once daily.
Note: The recommended starting dose is based upon asthma severity and previous asthma therapy (including inhaled corticosteroid dosage). Titrate to the lowest effective dose (step down) once asthma is well controlled after 2 to 3 months.
