How Does It Work
Elagolix, Orilissa is a gonadotropin-releasing hormone antagonist that suppresses pituitary and ovarian hormone function in a dose-dependent manner.

Before starting Elagolix, Orilissa makes sure your physician is aware of any allergies or medications you currently take. Elagolix, Orilissa can cause irregularities in menstrual bleeding patterns. A loss in bone mineral density and hepatic impairment has been associated with using Elagolix, Orilissa.
Usual Dosing
Oral: 150mg once daily.
Pharmacist Tips On Using
Oral: Take at the same time each day with or without food. Treatment should be initiated within 7 days of menses onset otherwise pregnancy must be excluded prior to therapy.
Side Effects
Headache, night sweats, amenorrhea, hot flash, nausea, loss in bone mineral density, insomnia, depressed mood, depression, anxiety, decreased libido, weight gain, abdominal pain, constipation, diarrhea, elevated liver enzymes, joint pain.
